School Values Assemblies

School values mean a lot to us. This term and last, we have been putting a spotlight on specific values with the aim of understanding them better. This initiative is being led by Mr Musgrave and Mr Cox.

As of now, the values covered have been mutual respect, kindness, and tolerance. In these video-style assemblies, we discuss what the values stand for, and more importantly how we can demonstrate them in practice. Both staff and pupils feature in this, being asked, “what does this value mean to you?” With compelling answers from all, it shows what a supportive community we foster throughout the School.

Mr Musgrave explains, “We are trying to promote both the School and British values together with explicitly teaching the values as part of the behaviour curriculum…We would like a big drive to reward pupils for showing these”.

Understanding how to appropriately relate these values to daily life can be tricky, it’s hoped with these assemblies that we will be able to continue to implement and celebrate these sentiments as they are applied across the School.
