Gatsby Benchmarks

What are the Gatsby Benchmarks?

The Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of 8 guidelines about what makes the best careers provision in schools and colleges. 

We use the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance to measure and assess the impact of our careers programme on our students and their progression success. 

These guidelines are:

1. A stable career programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
6. Experiences of workplaces
7. Encounters with further and higher education
8. Personal guidance

As part of our commitment to informing our pupils of the full range of learning and training pathways on offer to them, we provide several opportunities throughout the pupils' journey to allow them to explore different career paths.  We have a structured programme, which includes a variety of activities that focus on providing high quality information and guidance.  For more information on Gatsby Benchmarks, please click here.
